Right, here it is broken down, Light fighters protect everything, heavy fighters protect your cruisers, cruisers protect your battleships your battleships protect your battlecruisers and your battlecruisers protect your destroyers. Why, and what about bombers you should be asking.

This is why (Now, it does get complicated depending on what your up against)... you need a huge amount of light fighters as long as there at minimum 4x more than your heavys, for heavy fighters you need to make sure there are at the bare minimum double the cruisers you have, for cruisers you need to make sure you have a few hundred more than battleships, and BS's and BC, about the same.

Destroyers, build LOTS of, they are the main weapon against everything.

Bombers are really only good if your attacking a planet with defense on it

OR

if you plan to join the smash and bash crowd then you want the following

FOR EVERY 100 BATTLESHIP
100 battlecruiser
200 recyclers
400 cruisers
800 heavey fighters
1600 light fighters

if you really plan to go this route you will need a minimum of 10,000 battleships which means
10,000 battle cruisers
20,000 recyclers
40,000 cruisers
80,000 heavey fighters
160,000 light fighters

destroyers and bombers are for turtle cracking and are on a 1 for 1 basis with battleships if your going for the "Ideal" fleet

but for a fleet of this type you need at least level 30 deut mines to keep it in the air

and if your smart you build the heavy ships first so that you don't climb the ranks until you are ready - the big fleeters watch the fleet ranks and not the point ranks
